PROMOTE the business and service organizations of Sun City West, AZ.

Provide PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT opportunities for local business leaders through networking sessions and by incorporating selected classes offered by business educators or faculty from local colleges, universities, or the private sector.

Sponsor COMMUNITY EVENTS wherein contributions received will be distributed to local charities that serve the residents of Sun City West, AZ.

Hold community events as a way of THANKING OUR RESIDENTS for their support of Sun City West business and service providers.

About SCWABC

The SCWABC Mission is...

  • To work as an advocate for our community in their efforts to strengthen the well-being of Sun City West by networking with and promoting the use of our local businesses and organizations within our community that will enrich the lives of Sun City West residents.
  • To create greater awareness of the various member organizations located within Sun City West through collaborative promotional and educational efforts.
  • To promote the advantages of utilizing our members’ offerings and services to the betterment of the Community at large.
  • To foster positive cooperative opportunities in all endeavors undertaken by the Alliance of Business & Community, including the sponsoring of networking and professional development events.
  • To protect the unique quality of life we enjoy here as change and growth come to the West Valley, thereby preserving and enhancing the community pride and spirit within Sun City West.

Mary Doyle serves as the Vice President of Adultcare Assistance Homecare, a locally owned senior home-care agency serving communities across Arizona. With a strong passion for supporting seniors and their families, Mary is dedicated to building partnerships that help older adults remain independent while receiving compassionate care. In her leadership role, Mary focuses on team development, community outreach, and creating meaningful collaborations with healthcare providers and community organizations. She is deeply committed to strengthening connections between businesses and community resources that support aging adults. As President of the Alliance of Business & Community (ABC), Mary is excited to help foster relationships between local organizations and professionals who share a heart for serving the community.

Lisa Gill is the Vice President, Financial Sales Manager for First Citizens Bank in Sun City West. She has over 40 years of banking experience. Lisa is the Vice President, previous President for the Sun City West Alliance of Business & Community. She helped start the organization in 2015. Lisa is the Board Chair for Eve’s Place and an active member since 2012. Lisa is a member of BNI since 2024. Lisa lives in Anthem with Joe her husband of 36 years and has 2 daughters, Alicia & Kristina. Lisa has 2 wonderful grandchildren, Scarlett & Brantley. She loves spending her free time with them. Lisa enjoys reading, photography and football. GO EAGLES.

I utilize many years of health care experience as well as a Masters in Community Counseling to assist seniors and families to find solutions to many issues and needs. I enjoy my Huskie who keeps me on my toes; many hobbies and a sense of humor which keeps me focused on being positive!

Tom is the manager and VP of To My Surprise Shuttle, a locally owned transportation company serving the Northwest Valley. With a focus on reliable service, clear communication, and customer care, Tom works closely with both passengers and partners to make every trip smooth and stress-free. He’s passionate about building strong community relationships and running a business people can count on.  Outside of work, Tom enjoys running and hiking, and values time with his family as a husband and father. He actively volunteers with St. Vincent de Paul, helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness or in need of food, financial assistance, and spiritual support.

Adultcare Assistance Homecare

Ava Pruett is a Senior care Advocate with Adultcare Assistance Homecare. She has been with them for a little over a year. Prior to this position she helped seniors with cognitive testing and reducing risk of falling through special testing and exercises. She loves being able to work with seniors and help them find the care and resources they need to safely stay in their home. She also enjoys working with people that have Dementia and volunteering in Dementia Memory activities. She wants to be sure that seniors know they have someone that is watching out for them and genuinely cares about them. Her family is another of her passions. She has been married for 24 years and has 2 sons. Her youngest is 19 and just became a firefighter in Quartzsite. Her oldest is 26 and a newlywed. Her kids and husband share her passion of helping those that need help themselves.

Stephen Schwertley

Born in Iowa, I moved to Phoenix in 1971. I am a graduate from ASU with a BS in Biology, plus a Secondary Teaching degree. I have sold medical equipment, robots to the semiconductor industry, reprographic equipment, automotive software and tire equipment, to working as a Director of New Business Development in local senior living community.

Dick grew up on a farm in Northwest, Ohio. He loves travel, softball, golf, cards (bridge, euchre, etc.), and has lived overseas on three continents, two years in Laos, two years in Uruguay, one year in the Netherlands. He has visited over 85 countries and all 50 States. Dick is responsible for batting outside speakers for ABC meetings and is the author of the book, “Embracing Life…….with Twists and Turns”.

About Sun City West

Sun City West (SCW) is a remarkable retirement community in the Northwest Valley. Technically, it functions as an unincorporated community and does not have typical city government structure. The services provided to the area come from four providers:

Maricopa County provides street maintenance, building and zoning codes, law enforcement and public health services.
